Trailer Park: The Curse of La Llorona

Today sees yet another spooky horror enter our Trailer Park, as Warner Bros' The Curse of La Llorona sets to hit cinemas later this year. The film is produced by Emile Gladstone, Gary Dauberman (“IT” and “Annabelle” franchises) and James Wan (“The Conjuring” universe) and is Directed by debuting director  Michael Chaves, who won Shriekfest’s Best Super Short Film in 2016 for “The Maiden”

The film looks very James Wan, and could ever pass as a part of the conjuring universe. The trailer ticks all those supernatural boxes for me, and the bath scene at the end of the trailer looks bloody creepy.

La Llorona.  The Weeping Woman.   A horrifying apparition, caught between Heaven and Hell, trapped in a terrible fate sealed by her own hand.  The mere mention of her name has struck terror around the world for generations.

In life, she drowned her children in a jealous rage, throwing herself in the churning river after them as she wept in pain.

Now her tears are eternal.  They are lethal, and those who hear her death call in the night are doomed.  La Llorona creeps in the shadows and preys on the children, desperate to replace her own.  As the centuries have passed, her desire has grown more voracious…and her methods more terrifying.

In 1970s Los Angeles, La Llorona is stalking the night—and the children.
Ignoring the eerie warning of a troubled mother suspected of child endangerment, a social worker and her own small kids are soon drawn into a frightening supernatural realm.  Their only hope to survive La Llorona’s deadly wrath may be a disillusioned priest and the mysticism he practices to keep evil at bay, on the fringes where fear and faith collide.
Beware of her chilling wail…she will stop at nothing to lure you into the gloom.
Because there is no peace for her anguish.  There is no mercy for her soul.
And there is no escape from the curse of La Llorona.

The film stars Linda Cardellini (Netflix’s “Bloodline,” “Avengers: Age of Ultron,”); Raymond Cruz (TV’s “Major Crimes”); Patricia Velasquez (TV’s “The L Word,” “The Mummy” films); and Marisol Ramirez (TV’s “NCIS: Los Angeles”).

I will say this is probably a title inspired by a certain up coming Stephen King adaptation set to hit this year, but our newest entry to our little Trailer Park of dreams and nightmares is Pet Graveyard (Known also as Reaper), a new supernatural thriller from Proportion Productions and Millman Productions and stars and cast of relatively unknown actors and actresses including  Jessica O'Toole, David Cotter, Rita Siddiqui, Hindolo Koroma, T'Jean Uter-Dinh, and Hattie Willow and is the directorial debut of Mother Krampus producer Rebecca J. Matthews

PET GRAVEYARD concerns a group of friends tormented by the Grim Reaper and his sinister pet after they undergo an experiment that allows them to revisit the dead.

PET GRAVEYARD is scheduled for release on dvd/digital on April 2nd.

Trailer Park: Rocking The Couch

We have for you today the trailer for a very important documentary on the subject of the #metoo movement sweeping from the entertainment world.

One of the most important releases of the year, ROCKING THE COUCH, available On Demand this February from Avail Films.

Hollywood titans, Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby, have been brought to their knees by the #MeToo movement. But they did not invent Casting Couch. The term casting couch has existed for decades. But in 1992, a case against talent agent, Wallace Kaye, was brought to court by 12 unknown actresses, who braved the loss of their careers, their privacy, and their Hollywood dreams. They stepped forward, despite the advice of their union, and brought the case to the police. Against all odds, they won, and no one listened.

Our documentary explores the case and asks, “Why didn’t we hear about this?” More importantly, why didn’t Hollywood learn from this case? For, if they had, maybe the Cosbys and the Weinsteins would have learned as well, and these sexual exploitations could have been prevented.

“Those who ignore history are bound to repeat it.”

ROCKING THE COUCH is now available on Amazon U.S and UK.

This weeks new addition to our Trailer Park is Harald Franklin's The Glorious Seven, a homage to Akria Kurosawa's 1954 classic Shichinin no Samurai

Ex-military commander David Guerra is hired by a crooked millionaire to rescue his wife who was kidnapped by the leader of a guerrilla group. Guerra recruits six of his former special forces comrades to join him on this task. Outnumbered by their highly skilled opponents the seven start a seemingly hopeless and bloody mission, hoping they can pull off the unthinkable and somehow still survive.

This is available on VOD and DVD from March 12th from Uncork’d Entertainment. Let us know your thoughts below!
