It's TV Month here at Snakebite Reviews and we will be looking at some TV shows new and old and seeing how they hold up. We start with a recent show which I caught up with this weekend in the form of Scream: The TV Series which is over on Netflix in the UK. Season One was brilliant but I bypassed Season 2 early last year for some reason after a few episodes but going back into this how did it go? I actually ended up really enjoying it this time round. There may be  SPOILERS ahead.....you have been warned.

Season 1 of Scream revealed that the killer was non other than Journalist Piper Shaw, the revealed half-sister of main girl Emma, the daughter of local legend Brandon James. After an epic show down Emma and here friend Audrey kill Piper, but not before Piper reveals she has another big surprise for the Lakewood teens. The season ends with the big reveal (so many reveals!) that Audrey is the one who brought Piper to Lakewood and is hr accomplice or is she?

As the second season ticks along we find out alot more behind the story of Piper and Audrey and the reasons behind how they meet and why. As a second killer tries the frame her, Audrey races to cover up her connection to last seasons villain. So is Audrey isn't the killer who is the crazy son of a bitch who is slicing up the remaining Lakewood survivors? well you will have to wait and find out as i'm not going to spoil the final moments of the season, HOWEVER this seasons killer is much more brutal than season one, with kills and scenarios which are pretty violent for an MTV show. The final showdown is both unexpected and predictable but it doesn't disappoint and is a true Scream style moment.

While the start of Season 2 did drag the final half of the season was a real who done it. There are several suspects who could be Piper's accomplice and with the reveal in the finale and a big tease in the extended Halloween special that followed Season 3 looks like it will be VERY interesting. There is alot of character building in this season with Audrey taking centre stage in many of the episodes, but the stand out character has to be Noah, the shows version of fan favorite Randy as the horror expect and the new host of pipers old podcast. As Noah begins to unravel the truth about Piper and the connection to his best friend Audrey his character grows. He is torn between thinking his friend is and killer and trying to find an explanation. He also FINALLY gets a decent love interest in the form of Zoe, and we see his life take a drastic change. I'm still not 100% behind the Emma character, shes is in no way close the being a Sidney Prescott however she is a very typical teen drama kind of choice so in the modern era of TV she is probably a favorite among the younger viewers.

The acting is your usual teen show kind of fair with a good story and a fair bit of gore to top it all off. As a HUGE fan of the films i'm really enjoying this show. It has all the aspects of the films, and there are a few moments that feel like decent homages to some scenes in Scream 2, but I know this show will divide many. Personally I think you show give it a shot and let us know what you think!
