If you are of a certain era in the UK you will have no doubt heard of The Enfield Haunting, the story of the Hodgson family in Enfield who were haunted for YEARS by a poltergeist who seemed fixated on the youngest girl Janet. It was all over the media with police officers being witness to the events which lead on to one of the UK's BIGGEST paranormal investigations.  With a more recent three part series on Sky TV following the story on the side of Maurice Grosse, who was one of the original team of investigators in the real life events, i was was shocked to hear that The Conjuring 2 would be heading down this path also, this time through the eyes of the legendary paranormal team of Ed and Lorraine Warren, who were indeed at the Hodgson home at some point n the investigation, but were nowhere near as involved in the investigation as the film makes you believe.

The film has taken the basic idea of the true events and turn it into something which may be pushing the boundaries of based on a true story to the very edge. There was no Nun, there was no exploding windows (how did none of the neighbours in the film hear this happening?! and the spirit is still, apparently haunting the home, however not as aggressively as he did when Janet lived in the home.

This can be forgiven though, as the world of film is a funny place like that. The Conjuring 2 IS a good, nay great example of horror cinema at its finest, James Wan is indeed the new leading name in Horror and we all now as horror fans can rejoice and breath a sigh of relief that bigger companies can actually do some good in this genre with love so much.
The Nun, who as i mentioned before has NOTHING to do with the actual hauntings, was a creepy as hell demon and will no doubt leave some newbie horror lovers with few nightmares. I love this teaming of  of Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga who return as Ed and Lorraine Warren, these two have so much chemistry together and you can feel the real bond which the Warrens are known to have had for each other. The addition of the Amityville case was a great opener and a new look into that portion of paranormal history and I hope this could see a new and BETTER redo of the Amityville story being made.

Since the film was release there has also been news that there will be another spin off of the Conjuring coming, just like the more mediocre film Annabelle, which will focus on the demonic Nun from this film. I look forward to this, the demon was interesting to say the least so i would like to see what they can pull out of the back.

The Conjuring 2 brings Horror back to the cinema promise land as it's previous film did bak in 2013. If you want a fright the this is the one to watch this year, well untill the release of Lights Out
