So here is something I never thought would happen, a one star review of one of the Ice Age films. Now lets get a few things straight before I start, YES i know this is a film for kids but to this I will argue so is Finding Dory and I very much enjoyed Finding Dory. Secondly I am actually a big fan of the previous films, even with the pirate monkeys and that annoying little bastard Buck, and even through all this I still hate this film.
The film follows the hapless trio as they team up again with Buck this time to save the world from a meteor, which is turn was caused by....a stick with me here.....Scrat finding an alien space craft, flying into space and causing a meteor shower to rain down on earth.
The film just felt like a total mess to be honest, with the once funny trio feeling outdated and worn down. The cast of tag along characters are no better, the group felt to big and there was little in the way of laughs, or at least intentional laughs. I hate the addition of Sid's grandmother in the last film and I hated her even more in this film. I hated the whole Scrat in space stuff, it added an un wanted addition of aliens to the story whcih felt like the writers were going to far out of the box with this one. So far out of the box it has left the inards of said box scattered around the cinema with bits missing and yeah just a god awful mess of a film.
Kids of a certain age will find this funny but I hate to think of you poor parents out there who are going to be forced to watch this over done pile a tripe. Don't bother, wait till Netflix.
