Firstly I want to talk about the artwork. The artwork reminds me of old school cartoons like He-Man and old RPG games. The main character looks really interesting but in my opinion the other character designs are not so impressive. The Troll which I stated became my favorite character doesn't look much like a Troll, and also the Elves are to generic for me with no real unique design. I would still say that the artwork is good, but it is lacking that spark.
Similarly like the artwork, the story was also lacking. The action scenes and interactions between characters were good. An example of this is the very first fight between Ragnarok and the Troll, there was great banter and good combat. There is also a separate narrative revolving around two Elves looking for someone, this story has more depth to it emotionally but it didn’t keep my interest. Towards the end of the book the story got really hard to follow as the speech was hard to read, couldn’t follow the drawings and lack of interest towards the end. It's a shame as the story really started strong but tail dived near the end.
This would be great for someone who likes narratives about Demi Gods and undead Draugr in epic battles (which normally I would). To recap the main character is appealing, looks good and is funny. The story started good and has some good battles but I lost interest.
