Firstly let's talk about the one aspect I enjoyed, the artwork. It was a good mix of transformers and angry birds, with one bird running down his enemies as a car and then uses his in game powers to explode and destroy a wall. The transformer armour did look really good and was interesting to see angry birds turn to a vehicle from a weird robot bird. The world looks good and had strong potential but after a while all the bright colours and over the top character design grated on me and I lost any connection.
As stated before the story was so hard to follow, there are a few parallel running narratives which I didn’t even know were not all in the same place. Some characters split up and I never realised. Nothing really made sense to me at all, although in all fairness I didn’t read the first 3 comics. Even after reading this I still don’t really know what happened narrative-wise. There was a passable attempt at character banter with each other but that soon got to repetitive and killed the slight humour. The rough story is basically the birds and pigs teaming up in robotics going to war with some weird egg robots. It was slightly refreshing to see the birds actually use their in-game powers but apart from that there isn't any hint of the game.
This may be good for kids who really enjoy the angry birds game and also appreciate transformers, but I think any adult would give up half way through. I really wanted to like it but I just couldn’t. If you are a fan of the game then give this ago but don't say I didn’t warn you.
