As always I shall start with the narrative which like I said previously is rather basic but works really well and was created perfectly. The summary of the narrative thus far was really handy an to the point, stating the quest and where they are now which really helped at the start of the comic. The narrative of this comic is basically one big long battle with a dragon and then some of the aftermath of the victory. There are four main characters and all of them were really funny and created a lovable story, I can imagine these characters being in the old Baldur's Gate games (which I loved). The script as really easy to follow and effective and actually really funny. The character of Minsc and his sidekick hamster Boo were the highlight of the comic for me as they really represents everything this genre stands for, having fun in a wild action adventure land. The world which is created in this comic is really fun and entertaining and really felt like I was playing/watching an old school RPG game.
The art work summed up into one word is, wow. The detail of one specific shot of fire being exhaled from the dragon towards two of the heroes just looked stunning. Additionally all the small little details in the backgrounds and landscaped all look amazing, another example of this is when Minsc and Boo are riding the dragon and the world around them just expands into the vast universe of Baldur's Gate. And then there is the character design which is also fantastic. The characters are really reminiscent of the games but also very unique and new, while at the same time playing to the stereotypes of the genre. For instance there is Minsc the massive warrior tank character who is dumb, and the elf mage who is cunning and slender. But the costumes and designs all fit into the universe so well and are really enjoyable.
I really loved reading this comic and thus would tell everyone to read it. I think it is really appealing to a vast audience. If I could reference it to a cinematic universe I would say it is Tolkien-esque which has a massive market appeal all of whom I think would really enjoy reading this comic. An epic battle against goblins and dragons, how can you not love it.
